These 5 Frame metal queen excluders measures 506mm x 230mm - perfect for a standard 5 frame nucleus box. The gaps in the excluder are sized to allow the worker bees through to the honey supers but not the larger sized queen.

Using an excluder is a helpful way to stop the queen accessing part of the hive.

Small hive beetle (SHB) is rampant at the moment with warm weather, and wet conditions in Qld. Unfortunately this queen excluder has gaps the SHB can hide in. For the southern states where SHB is not a problem, then it is great!
Incredibly fast delivery, and fits perfectly, and as described. Lower rating due to challenges in controlling SHB.
