10 Frame Stainless Steel Queen Excluder

A stainless steel queen excluder sized for a standard 10 frame bee hive (510mm × 410mm). The bee-pass slots let worker bees move freely up into the honey supers but stop the larger queen — keeping eggs and brood out of your honey frames for cleaner harvests.

Why use a queen excluder?

If the queen accesses the honey supers and lays eggs there, it becomes harder to harvest clean honey free of brood. A queen excluder is a simple way to keep her in the brood box where she belongs.

Specifications

  • Dimensions: 510mm × 410mm — fits a standard 10 frame box
  • Material: 201 stainless steel
  • Bee-pass slots sized for workers, not the queen

Durable, well-spaced queen excluder that keeps honey supers completely brood-free

I added this stainless steel queen excluder to my 10-frame hive setup a few months ago, and it has worked very well to keep brood out of my honey supers. The 510mm × 410mm sizing sits flush right over the brood chamber without shifting or leaving risky edge gaps. The rounded wire slots are spaced properly, allowing the worker bees to pass through without wing damage while effectively blocking the queen below. Cleaning off propolis with a hive tool is much easier on this metal frame than on flexible plastic alternatives, which tend to warp or crack over time. It makes honey harvesting much cleaner and hassle-free.

Pros:

Precise slot spacing reliably restricts the queen without hindering worker bee movement.

Sturdy stainless steel build does not warp or bend during hive inspections.

Sits flush on standard 10-frame boxes with no awkward side gaps.

Cons:

Noticeably heavier than standard plastic excluders when lifting hive boxes.
