Nucleus beehives are perfect for when you are looking to do a split or catch a swarm.

This Nuc Hive comes flat packed, with the lid and mesh base pre-assembled and the box requiring simple assembly.

The hives are made from New Zealand Pine and features dovetail joints for easy assembly. Please note nails required for assembling the box are not included.

Once assembled it is recommended the timber box be primed and painted for longevity.

Dimensions don't fit with Australian components, boxes are cheaply made

The boxes were low quality and poorly fitted, some of the timbers bowed and warped. Also, what they don't tell you is that these are made to Chinese manufacturer dimensions, so they don't fit with Australian made hive components, and they have less room than Australian-made nuc boxes. Possibly a Chinese import being resold? While the mesh base is a good addition, we were disappointed in the quality and size.

Used for an emergency split, 3 frames with queen cells. Over a week later a Queen had emerged and just returned from a mating flight.
Worked a treat! Small entrance to defend, roof ventilation worked well in the heat. The slide out base is a great benefit now being in a varroa management zone.
Solid build, looks good.
