The Ideal sized langstroth frames (frame height 136mm) are made from premium New Zealand Timber and feature a solid 13mm grooved bottom bar, which makes them suitable for either wax or plastic foundation. The side bars also feature 2 pre-drilled holes to allow for wiring of frames if required.

Ideal sizes frames and supers are approximately 40% smaller than the more commonly used full depth size and are for this reason much easier on the back. They are also commonly used to make cut comb honey.
