Starter strips (also sometimes referred to as "comb guides") are thin pieces of timber that slots into the groove in the underside of the top bar of beehive frames. They are predominantly used for beekeepers practicing "foundation-less" beekeeping or for comb honey production. The idea being the bees use the strip of timber as a guide when starting to draw the honeycomb to help them build down straight.

Sold in packs of 20 or 100.
