Gabled beehive lids (sometimes called a pigeon roof) are not only attractive but help keep your beehive cooler in summer and dryer in winter. The pitched roof and end vent holes provide extra ventilation for heat and moisture to escape. They also provide extra protection from the elements due to the roof overhang.

The lids are made from pine and come either unassembled or fully assembled.

Gabled roofs are generally used in conjunction with a hive mat or crown board (not included) to prevent bees drawing honeycomb in the roof cavity

Gabled beehive roof

Looks good when assembled. Could do with assembly instructions as it was hard to work out the order of the roof parts, especially as it looked like there were no thought screws provided.

Exactly what my bees needed, good quality and fast delivery.

Nice but arrived cracked and missing screws

The hive roof was relatively straight forward to put together, although It seems to come 4 screws short which I had to supply myself. One of the gables was cracked.
