Beehive entrance reducers are an important tool to help control pests and for hive health.

These metal beehive gates can be used a number of ways:

1) fully closed when moving your beehive - one side of the sliding gate is perforated for ventilation and can be used to block off the entry/exit entirely.

2) flip the gate over and allow the bees to enter/exit but not larger pests such as mice.

3) slide the gate to partially open to control the size of the beehive entrance. Generally when it is cold or the hive is low in numbers, a smaller entrance will help the bee defend against pests and robber bees.

Each entrance comes with the sliding gate and 2 brackets to attached to your hive.

great design, wrong size

My order arrived quickly but I reckon I received a gate entrance reducer for a 10 frame box as it's too wide for my 8 frame box, so I had to modify it to fit. I really like the design however and just to flip it over to to shut the bees in behind a screen enabling air access is very handy. The lower score is for my inconvenience only, not the design.
