The J-style (Australian-style) hive tool is a workhorse beekeeper's tool — used for prying open propolis-sealed hives, lifting and separating frames, and scraping wax and propolis from frames and boxes. Made from strong hard steel.

- Prying lids and supers apart when sealed by propolis
- Lifting and separating frames using the J-hook end
- Scraping wax and propolis off frames, boxes and tools
