Full Depth / Deep

"Full Depth" is the standard Langstroth frame size in Australia — also known as "deep frames" in US and some other markets. 232mm frame height. The most commonly used size for brood and honey production.

How to install beeswax foundation

Sit the beeswax foundation sheet in the flat bottom bar and press the top edge against the pre-tensioned wire. To bond the foundation to the wire so it won't sag in warm weather, use one of two embedding tools:

• 12V / 24V Wax Foundation Embedder — touch the probe to each wire and the heat embeds it instantly. Quick, consistent, no guesswork.
• Manual Wheel Wire Embedder — a small handheld roller you push along each wire to press it into warmed wax. Low-cost manual option.

Either method takes less than a minute per frame.

Do I need to wire these myself? No — that's the whole point. The frames are pre-wired through brass eyelets so you can skip the hours of threading and tensioning stainless wire.

Will the wire hold up to a full super of honey? Yes — 0.5mm stainless spring steel AISI304 is the standard beekeeping gauge, correctly tensioned at the factory. The wire plus beeswax foundation combination won't sag in Australian summer heat.

What's the difference between "Full Depth" and "Deep"? Same frame. "Full Depth" is the Australian term; "Deep" is the US term. Both refer to the standard 232mm Langstroth brood frame.
